Young Quilter of the Year, Fiona Coupe

Fiona Coupe, who recently submitted an ambitious textile piece to The Festival of Quilts, has won Young Quilter of the Year within her age category, which is an enormous achievement.
First prize included a state of the art 'Brother' sewing machine and an invitation to the award ceremony and gala dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham.
After the festival, the winning quilts are being taken on tour to exhibit in London, Dublin and Harrogate.
Congratulations Fiona.

Wingfield Art Awards 2009

Congratulations go to former student, Bryn Fitch, on his outstanding achievement of winning the painting category at this year’s Wingfield Art Awards. Bryn, now a student at Goldsmiths College in London, was delighted to receive the award. His large painting entitled Composition IV, the fourth in a series of five, was given much accolade and even gained interest from potential patrons. Head of Art & Photography and Bryn's teacher, Darren Beattie, was overjoyed with the result and accompanied him to the award ceremony.
Northgate High School was delighted to enter work from both art and photography students; Bryn was joined by former art student Emily Waters and Year 13 photography student Tom Rose.
Well done to all of you.
