Exhibiting Success

Congratulations go to former Year13 Art and Photography student Henry Curtis-Williams for winning the prestigious Ipswich Art Society Award at the Anna Airy Award Exhibition 2013. The exhibition was organized by the society and hosted at the UCS Waterfront Gallery overlooking Neptune Quay. The long-established exhibition is renowned for showcasing the talents of young artists aged 16-20 from all around the county. Indeed, all the Northgate entries that were submitted were short-listed from a huge entry of student work from the Ipswich area and beyond. The Open Exhibition was well-attended by family and friends, fellow students, teachers, artists and the mayor who was amazed at the high quality of work on show. The winning work was a series of digital photographs inspired by the work of Tim Walker.
Congratulations must also go to the other Art students whose work received a certificate of commendation. This included a textile installation by Juanita Richards, oil paintings by Bethany Woodhead and Emily Weston, drawings by Sophie Bale and an acrylic study of findings on a beach by Charlotte Simpson. The Saatchi Gallery online is also exhibiting some of our students who are mentioned above. To view their work please visit the site here.

If you are an A Level student doing Art or Photography and would like to be considered for entry to the Schools Art Prize then please get in touch with Mr Beattie ASAP.
